Disconnected BPC and did a few runs...

According to some suggestions to a post below I disconnected my BPC and tried to induce a boost related cut off that I noticed. Well I didn't get the cut off with the BPC disconnected, as predicted I couldn't even get the boost to enter the red, it came close but nothing like when my BPC is intact. I drove to the parts store and picked up some Techron and four new NGK's (BCPR6ES-11's). I'll replace them this weekend. On the way to the store the BPC was off and no cut out, on the way back it was hooked up and I got the cut out. Like I mentioned before, now that I'm really scrutinizing I notice that the gauge goes halfway into the red, maybe even a little past halfway before it cuts out! I only got it to cut out in 3rd with near w.o.t and low to mid rpm (3500-5000). Dean, I checked the linkage for the wastegate and didn't see a clip or pin? Yet the linkage, despite being a little rusty, is tight and secure???? Is there any other way to identify a modified ECU?
