Ok to fill you in from yesterday---the car acted properly when the BPC was disconnected--it should have done EXACTLY as you posted--because it became a LPT.
I hope this helps you not to worry. So far so good.
Now lets answer THIS post re: the wastegate actuator. You'll see the jam nut and the somewhat rusty linkage from the top--right ?? The circleclip is easiest seen from underneath the car.
So you either have a bad BPC--like I said previous---or some body has cranked up the boost proir to your purchasing the car---or you have a bad DI cassette---or worst of all a pairing of some of these.
Keep your spark plugs as spares for now. Coose one of the following: Find a BPC known to be good aand swap it out and go for another test drive---if the car shuts off--then its NOT the BPC- its now either the wastegate adjustment or DI cassette
OR
If you do not have access to a BPC to switch:
Pry off the circle clip, loosen the jam nut on the rusty looking linkage, and rotate the linkage shaft COUNTERCLOCKWISE 1/2 turn. Reinsert the circleclip and modestly tighten the jame nut--and go back on the road for another drive..... If this cures you ills, the some body before you jacked up the basic charge air pressure too high.
If it does not cure it Repeat the above.(When your engine cools down).
I would say after 3-4 1/2 turn adjustments you ought to stop.
Long but should help you.
