i talked about that with my mechanic but came to the conclusion that it really won't help me solve this problem.
i guess knowing what the lowest oil pressure spec is, would be good to know, but since its very intermittent even if i did know the pressure, what would i do with that information? the pressure switch is only about 10,000 km old so should be performing to spec.
i really think its just a niggly little vacuum leak that is causing the rpm to drop more than it should when i take my foot off the gas.
Right now i'm checking into the brake vacuum pump and whether that could be a source of a vacuum leak.
I dont even really know how it works - i presume the camshaft is rotating the pump to create vacuum?
why is this thing on my automatic and not on my Viggen? it needs more vacuum than the engine can create? or is it because the turbo steals vacuum and thus you need an alternate source at the ready?
TIA,
Wayne
