Had a chance to get down and pull the tire.
Turns out the rear bump stop was totally shot and was allowing the spring to compress too much.
This bouncing managed, over time, to wear the outside edge of the hard plastic fuel tube at its most outward position allowing the the inner tire edge to chafe the tube.
The hole/leak is a just a tiny slit maybe 1/64 albeit the chafe area is an oval of about 1.5" long.
I clean up around it and put a gorilla tape on it hoping it will stay in place tile the sealant arrives.
I will use that airline bladder sealant per the post here. the 1.5 oz bottle should more than past over the affected area. Its thick-ish ( not runny) and applies like thin bondo and dries fast while remaining semi flexible.
I have had new bump stops sitting in th garage waiting for when i redo the rear brakes as I'd need to undu both shock top nuts to drop the rear axle to get at the spring tops to pound in the bump stops.
I'll post back after I see how it all worked out.
