Seems I gotta remove the top shock nut on both sides while supporting the cross member / axle- ish member so it doesn’t totally drop and disturb the break lines. Once released I can remove the rear springs. I’ll then lube/soap up the new bump stops and Pound them into the top of the spring and reinsert. I found them on partsgeek a year ago.
Then it’s the 2 person job to steer both shock pistons stems up thru the body/receiver and fasten nut/ bushings. If that doesn’t work I will need to remove the bottom shock bolt, compress the shock and try the other way
I should have the bladder sealant by Friday. I found that I had some rusted out decking in the right side of the trunk right behind the rear wheel. I will use aluminum mesh to replace it and baste it in Bondo - top and bottom. Then spray with undercoat.
I will need to take the side to side play out of the gas filler bladder/tube. It may be that a securing screw in the middle of the tube has rotted out and allows the sideways wag in the hose causing the wheel abrasion - compounded by the missing bump stop excessive spring bounce.
Thanks for following
