I was perusing my Haynes manual looking at the intake manifold last night to see what all I needed to remove if I decided to hogwild and smooth it out. It seems there is a heated member that has the same shape of the intake manifold gasket. I know this is heated for the intake air, is there another heating element for the throttle body housing? The heating element I refer to has wire connected to it. It it heats all the time, I don't know if it does, disconnecting the wiring would be a test. I imagine this may cause a fault code in the ecu. I too would like to find out if it is heated all the time. For reasons unknown, I have faith that Saab would have thought of this and only heat this area when the engine is cold. Who knows? So you have also insulated the down pipe? by this you mean the exhaust pipe coming off of the turbo right? The posts seem a little slow today, maybe I should bring transmission oil, or better yet how the Hallman boost controller? I was really surprised there were no flames attached to my previous message.
