I drive an (older) suv (with Mich snows)too, but still feel in better control with a Saab and severe winter treads like Alpins or blizzaks. I appreciate your point, and this is not to say that an SUV will not perform better than a SAAB in snow/ice, but what I constantly see is SUV and/or 4wd PU drivers overdriving their vehicles. Sure, they can go, but can they stop? And numerous times last year, the glaze ice seemed way too much for even the heartiest of the 4 wheelers, while the Saab just plunged ahead, never missing a beat, and was even in control in panic braking. BTW, I am a fairly conservative driver in bad conditions, but do believe in not impeding traffic. Can't wait for january!
