So what do you know about fuel dilution in turbo charged engines in street service. Is this a serious concern, or a techical possibility? If there is problem, then does this not challenge extended oil change intervals, IE things like Amsoil 1 year change intervals?
I suspect that may be one reason that AMSOIL recommends using oil analysis to extend drains in turbos. I will say that I have yet to have a single oil analysis report showing anything more than a trace of fuel dilution.
At least some racers use a quick and dirty check for excess fuel dilution in the oil. They hold a match (or lighter) to the end of the dipstick. If it catches fires, too much fuel. Probably would take a blowtorch to get synthetic oil to light.
