I just picked up new upper and lower idler pullies. The upper one, smaller with the grooves, looks identical to the orignal.
The lower one is different. The construction is not the same. That probably is not an issue, but it came with its own bolt and a large stamped shield which covers the bearing. This new bolt is a torx drive, with an oversize (wide) head. The original has a simple hex head bolt, 13mm, with a thick oversize washer.
The problem is that I don't know how I am going to use this new fastener. I don't thing that there is enough room for a socket wrench and torx bit attached to the socket wrench.
I think that I could use the old fasteners, and leave out the new stamped shield. Has anyone got some advice on how to utilize this new torx fastener?
thanks, 95SET
