New belt, idler pulleys, & spark plugs...effect on battery? Posted by Duhey2 [Email] (#151) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Duhey2) on Sun, 8 Apr 2001 12:07:59 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I replaced the belt, two idler pulleys, and sparkplugs on my 96 900S yesterday and the car barely cranks. It's like the battery is working very hard, such that when I turn the key to start the lights get very dim and it'll crank two or three times VERY SLOWLY and then catch and fire up.
The plugs are gapped to specs (NGK from the dealer).
As an aside, the belt and pulleys were not all that difficult to change. I'm guess I'm so-so when it comes to mechanical inclination and I didn't think it was bad at all. Definitely worth doing myself and saving the $$$ in labor.
Thanks,
D2
