Thanks for the hint Rob.
Unfortunately the fine mist of water didn't do the trick. I'll try an instant detailer later this week, but I'm thinking of removing the previous wax with a detergent anyway and start from a fresh base, possibly with a totally different product. I waxed the car in cool weather conditions (around 12 degrees Celsius), maybe that's why the wax didn't do a good job this time around...
