Did the spring cleaning, got a few questions

hey guys. I braved the cold and wind yesterday and gave my '03 Cosmic Blue 9-5 Aero (bought it last August) a thorough cleaning. I started by washing the car and the rims with turtle wax soap. Next I went over the car and treated all the scratches I could find with Scratch X. After reading all the hoopla about the stuff, I figured the clay bar was worth a shot. I got the Mother's bar with their detailing spray.
The bar definitely took a lot of stuff off the car. There's a lot of stuff in it, no big particles just a lot of black smudges. I can't really say if the car actually looked different after the clay. How often do you guys use this thing? It took more time than I'd like to spend regularly, so I'm thinking of doing it 2x a year, in the spring and fall.
I finished up with a coat of Meguiar's gold class liquid wax. I don't know if it's just the wax, or the wax + clay bar, but the car looks fantastic. I think next weekend I'm gonna give it a very light washing and another coat of this stuff. How often do you guys wax?
