topping a glaze (meguiars #7 ?) with NXT is kind of doubling your effort. It can be done, but a glaze is primarily oils and fillers. NXT does a great job filling and hiding minor swirls/scratches and leaves a very nice glossy finish.
From reading your post, I would go with Meg's Scratch-x or mothers scratch remover on the more troubled spots 1st, then Deep Crystal polish, followed by NXT and then the S100. If you can, let the NXT cure about 6-12 hours before topping.
Also - be sure to clay prior to using the scratch removers (you likely already knew that).
