Leather w/ water damage

Longtime visitor and poster on the 9-5 board; first time here on the Detailing board.
Long story short, I was given a sweetheart offer to switch out my cloth seats (quite rare for the 9-5) for leather seats. The offer was from a used car dealer who has an above-board chop shop side business that buys totaled cars (European cars especially) and pulls off the use-able parts. The problem is, the seats have been left outside here in the one of Pacific Northwest's wettest years in recent memory-- they're under an awning, but exposed to everything. The guy said that the seats can be treated and made to be "just like new." Forgive the naive nature of my question-- I've never had leather seats before (I drive very enthusiastically, and don't want my kiester to slide around), but expect to keep my ride for a while. Anybody have any advice??
Thx,
G
