I would have to agree with the critics. After an hour of Matrix Reloaded I was glancing at my watch and wondering what it was about. There had been some nifty action sequences at that point, but as far as any plot continuity, perhaps I'll need to rent it and watch it again. I felt like I was watching a bunch of high-tech action shots glued together with sparse and sometimes baffling and inexplicable dialogue. When I left the first Matrix movie I thought about it for days because of the excellence of the story line and the revolutionary special effects. This movie had the same special effects, but the plot and story were lacking.
Keep in mind Peter Jackson had 3 classic fantasy books and a story with which many are already familiar to work from for LOTR.
YMMV,
John
