granted it is a very demanding field to be in (have to be a wiz on the computer and have magic fingers with the wrenches) I work very hard to make a living, but I love what I do. Every day I get to work on $150,000+ cars, how many of you can honestly say "hey I replaced that evaporator 2hrs faster than the factory said it should take and I didn't damage anything or have a spare parts left over".

I personally feel that technicians as a whole are under paid, we have to pay for expensive specialized training, need knowledge of electrical circuits and complex mechanical components like 7speed tiptronic automatic transmissions, we need to buy thousands in tools every year to keep up with the product changes, and work under the gun all day long. If your service adviser promised a water-pump and head-gasket by 4:30pm, its up to you to make it happen.

When I hear people bitching that we make to much I say you try living on only say 50-60grand per year in todays economy when the average price of a home is california $500,000.
