I wish once, just once, my *dealer* would focus on preventive maintenance instead of fixing one thing, then waiting for the next thing to break. I've run into several cases of being next to an inexpensive part (rear main seal) and not changing it, or even suggesting it.
A decade or more ago I had a Civic which never once gave me problems in 175k miles. Several times, the dealer would suggest preventive maintenance or 'while we are there' type work (i.e. replace water pump along with timing belt).
