Insurance really shouldn't be too bad. It's an older free car so you could do liability only. The thing that could get costly is repair, general operation cost, and perhaps monthly parking (and parking tickets) depending on where your living. If you don't have an income stream cars can be a real burden and impact negatively your debt situation. Some of the best advice for a young college student is "minimize debt". You won't necessarly be able to pay it off once your out of school as easily as you may think.
Then again it is free car. At some point it would be nice to have it seems hard to say no. However, maybe you leave it at home for the first year or two if parking is a hassel depending on your living arrangements. On campus your likely not won't really need a car during the school year at this early point. Might be handy during summer for work and then down the road a couple years.
