Returning a car to private party seller?

Okay, I made a huge error in judgement. I went out a couple weeks ago and bought a Range Rover. It is a very nice 1994 SWB. A page of checks from the credit card company came in the mail that said I could write them for whatever I want and they would be 1.99% for a year. I can totally afford to pay it off in a year. This sounded great, so we worked up a deal. I gave the seller $400 cash and a Providian Custon Cash advance check for $4600, but not before calling, together with the seller to confirm my available credit and that the check would clear. Well they bounced my check, saying there was a finance charge (quite a large one) that pushed the card over limit. I paid enough to cover the charge, plus and extra couple hundred, called and confirmed that the check would go through with two different people and the buyer redeposited the check just to have it returned again today. Okay, now I don't have the cash to cover the purchase and they're obviously not going to accept that check. One more problem, a couple days after I bought the car, the water pump failed as did the air suspension!! So I guess it's not just as simple as returning it, is it? I'm thinking if they're not willing to wait for it to sell (already sold on the "bay" once, but the deadbeat bidder backed out), I'll just return it and buy them off with an extra couple hundred dollars cash. What are my options here, legally? I feel totally trapped here. I need help. It feels so good to get into my 900S right now, I can almost imagine this Range Rover never existed.
