Having two dogs is benefical in that they do keep each other company when you're gone for longer periods of time. But keep in mind as pups learning the rules of the house, you will definitely want to keep them crated when you're gone -- both for their safety and the well-being of your house and belongings. So the most they'll be able to do is be side by side in their crates. (Which is better than nothing.)
The companionship is one reason we have two dogs. However, the most important thing in training is for you to be the number one thing in their lives. At an early age, if two pups are left to bond together without a lot of interaction from you, they become more focused on each other than you. Therefore, one-on-one time spent with you must be the best part of the day for them. If they know playing with each other is best, it will make it that much harder to focus and train them.
Our boys know that working and training is the most fun thing they can possibly do. So we have their utmost attention and focus when it's time to work and even play. Playing with each other is just a good alternative.
Best of luck.
