The general atmosphere at that dealer....

.. seems to be that you're troubling them simply by showing up. The parts guys act like you're distracting them from doing nothing, the sales guys (remember the day we looked at a 9-2X, Matt?) are content to ignore you, and the prices, even by Saab standards, are exorbitant. I've never dealt with their service department, but it wouldn't surprise me to hear this.
So what did they charge you the $434 for reinstalling the trans for, if they just stuffed it in the trunk? I'd have a chat (level-headed, no name calling, etc) with the service manager and ask him to clarify that, as well as asking him what he plans to do about your destroyed personal property. Stuffing a dirty grease tranny in a trunk on top of a customer's personal property just baffles me. They need to repair/replace your rear bumper or trunk lip too, whichever got mangled (are you talking about the black plastic "door step" just inside the lid?)
I wouldn't move the car from their property until you have pictures of all the above to back up your claims, at the very least. Also, 1-800-SAABUSA is your friend if all else fails.
Just remember to stay calm and act professional and self-assured, but not like an arrogant asshat. First off, it'll increase your chances of getting somewhere quickly by not angering the service manager (whom you NEED to speak with) and secondly, they'll wonder who you know/what you plan to do/why you're so self-assured, consider what you might do next (legal action, calling SaabUSA, etc) and you might change their minds if for some reason they are planning on charging you $434 to stuff a transaxle in your trunk, and telling you to have a nice day.
Something doesn't make sense here, either, driving fairly aggressively shouldn't put abnormal stress on clutch or driveaxles, provided you do it in the "right" manner, no 4000rpm clutch drops from a standstill, no fast/hard shifting. I'm wondering what really let go
