There are certain types of sushi that get me queazy still, like Octapus (more for the look than the taste). Did you start out with something visually unappealing and fishy? Did you touch the wasabi sauce? I can't stand the stuff personally :) I gotta agree with Urby about Eel being the gateway sushi: its cooked and covered in a delicious sauce. Still one of my favorites. Maybe try some Tuna? That's not too fishy.
