You don't want a hood to go through the windshield.
As I mentioned, you'd need to have some robust attachment points to make a hood a structural member (At least compared to the feneders and sub-frame/chassis.)
Just because a hood is designed to fold to keep it from entering the cabin, doesn't mean that it isn't stiff, just that it's secured adequatley to the fender/frame of the car...as you pointed out is obviously the case with the C900 attachment points.
Anyway, thanks for pointing out/clarifying.
