To clarify, their insurance will pay for any medical costs and for my glasses, which are not cheap. I buy the best glasses I can get. After that is settled, we'll see how I feel about the whole legal avenue.

I'll at minimum call the police to follow up and see if the police are going to press charges, assign any community service to the kids, or issue warning, etc.

And it is legal to possess these fireworks in Indiana, just not to light them off in unapproved areas. When you buy them here, you're required to sign a statement that you will only light them out of state or in-state in pre-approved, controlled areas.
