1 year or 16,000 miles....specifics please? Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] (#81) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mike Lynch) on Fri, 14 Oct 2005 18:07:51 In Reply to: Saab warranty question, steve, Fri, 14 Oct 2005 15:39:30 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
With regards to wear items, like clutches, brakes and tires, Saab warranty policy is, I believe, 1 year or 16,000 miles. I think alignment is also another 1 year 16,000 mile deal.
To say your rear suspension failed is an over generalization. What part(s) exactly failed? And what affect would that have on alignment? Failed suspension is usually caused by damage or collision. Things can wear our prematurely, but "failure" is a dubious term to me when applied to suspension systems.
You didn't specify the model, model year or mileage. For OG9-3's and NG900's it's pretty normal for the inside edge of the rear tires to wear excessively. Tire rotation takes care of that. If the camber is off within the 1 year 16k range Saab will probably adjust it even if you did cause it. After that the presumption is damage or you did something to cause it.
I can't imagine a dealer replacing suspension components under warranty with anything but original equipment parts. A dealer isn't going to allow you using the warranty money to upgrade, just proper repair and replacment.
I'm dying to hear more of the details....
