I've had various cell providers over the years...started with MCI, then Sprint, then Verizon and now Cingular. Could not be any happier with Cingular's service and customer support. I'm up in the woods in CT and cell service is very spotty here...never have Verizon service and that's why I switched to Cingular. Full service everywhere. Never a dropped call, never a reception issue...etc.
That said, I have the RAZR V3 black phone and it is by far the best phone I've ever owned. Have had Nokias, Samsungs, LG, and just sold my Treo 650. The internal antenna is what shines about this phone. I have yet to ever have a reception issue with it. Build quality is top notch...it's annodized scratch resistant alluminum. It's clanking around with my keys, change, pens...etc., all the time and there isn't one scratch on it. Can't say that for ANY other phone I've owned. Got it for $149 from Wirefly.com ($150 refund after 3 months of service) and came with an HS850 headset (complete junk as are all of Motorola BT headsets)...go check a Jabra or Scala Bluetooth set and you'll feel the same way.
I do about 800-1000 minutes a month and only have to charge the RAZR once every 10 days and the battery is still holding strong. That's with bluetooth running 24/7 also and even using the built in speakerphone function on it. Just paired it with a Parrot 3200 LS-COLOR bluetooth car kit and couldn't be happier. Phone sits in my pocket or my laptop bag in the backseat. Again, never a problem. Granted, this isn't a smart phone, or one you'd rely on for camera quality, but, it's solid, I've modded the heck out of it, have only rebooted it after a reflash or flex and it stays on 24/7 otherwise. Can't say that about any other phone I've had. I could personally care less about bells and whistles on a phone, I just want to be able to talk on it easily, without fiddling around to find something and to have 100% reliability with it. I've found it for sure in the RAZR.
My father had been a faithfull nokia user for years and just got their new flip phone...he's completely dissapointed in it as he's on his 5th one in 4 months...they keep dying on him. He finally got rid of it and ended up with the RAZR. His words were "I don't think I'd ever want another phone now", and we rarely see eye to eye on the same things.
