My main rant is about the water content in local gasoline. Water fouls and messes up calibration of the injectors, and also the older mechanical control systems. I proved it when I took a tank of Shell gas in my C900 and the idle immediately was increasingly rough. It stumbled at street starts too. Got some injector cleaner and all was soon well. I normally used Mobil or Exxon gas. No problem for a month of normal gas, so I tried the experiment and filled with another tank of Shell. Same result. Injector cleaner and a tankful of Mobil and all was well. I subsequently got the rumor that our local Shell refineries have a lot of water mixed in. There you have it.
I think we just need to know which local gases have water.
I also always try to fill with a gas that has cleaning additives.
