When you hit the overboost switch or the rev limiter, you're on the gas pedal. You feel the sudden loss of power relative to the power you had when it cut off.
With the over-run cutoff, it's very subtle since you're completely off the gas before it happens. Try driving in 1st or 2nd gear at 2500 rpm, then let off the gas & coast. As you coast down thru 1500 rpm or so, you might feel the injectors come back on. That's often easier to feel vs them shutting off.
