I took my 1999 9-3 SE into my local dealer to get an alignment and my brakes checked on March 3rd. I also had a bit of a rattle when i went in reverse, nothing major, but while it was in i asked them to check it. They called me back to tell me that multiple things were wrong with the car to the tune of 2300 (after i talked them down on the price).

In all, they replaced my oxygen sensor, replaced my fuel line, replaced my coolant reservior, replaced my brake pads and resurfaced my rotors, replaced my idler pulley and belt tensioner, cleaned my throttle body and air idle valve, aligned my wheels and did an oil change.

So after all of this, my car should be running perfect, right?

Instead on March 15th, 9 days after picking it up, i go to start my car and it begins to shake violently. the check engine light begins flashing as well. I call the dealership and they tell me to bring it right in. I do and tell them that the RATTLE is STILL happening I do and the next day they tell me i have a clogged purge valve. Well, fine, but what about the rattle? They say they will look into it and fix it at no cost.

It is now March 30th, the last communication i have had with the dealership was march 24th, when they told me they would be calling me the next day. They have had my beloved car for over 2 weeks.

What should i do? I think i deserve my money back as they have obviously messed up my car. 2300 dollars is a lot of money to spend to have your well running car turned into a hooptie! Do i have any rights here? I'm planning to go get my car back and take it to an independent mechanic to get it redone and checked, but what is my recourse against the dealership?

Sorry for the long post!
