if you don't have or can avoid construction in Ontario & Quebec, go into Quebec, turn south in Montreal and enter the U.S. in Vermont so you can get on I-91.
Take that to I-89 near Lebanon, NH.
I-89 crosses NH diagonally and hits I-93 south of Concord.
Go south (you'll hit one 75-cent toll) then take the first exit to keep on I-93 toward Boston.
Just north of Manchester you can head east on Rte 101 (Portsmouth exit, I think), which is four lanes all the way to the seacoast.
Then head north on I-95 into Maine.
My guess is 12 hours. I'm in southern NH and I can do Portland in 2.5 and Toronto in 9 or so.
Alternative is cross to Buffalo then get I-90 (NY Thruway) east to Albany. Stay on I-90 which turns into the Mass Turnpike in Mass.
Take that to I-495 (Exit 11?). Go North.
I-495 connects to I-95 where you head north to Maine.
