Good luck. There are a couple of hacks floating around online.
I had the same problem here near Chicago. What works wonderfully for me was to put a switch on my dash that interrupts the power to the antenna. The antenna stays down, and almost any frequency on the satellite receiver will work. As an added bonus, the antenna need not go up and down in cold weather. At times, it freezes and will not retract entirely. Now it can stay down for long periods. For me, it was a fast, easy, and cheap solution.
