As other have said, you can fight their offer. I had an '85 BMW 325e totaled. The Ins. Co. offered $2500 at the time. I compiled classified ads, and blue book values. I ended up with $5000, minus $500 to buy the car back from them and use for parts on my next car ('89 325iS). My car was exceptionally clean and well-cared for, and had about 120K on the clock. The simple truth is that they agree to pay you to replace your car. They are in the business of making money, so the less they spend, the more money they make. It's like a built-in conflict of interest.
A car with such high miles will not be viewed very highly by the insurance company. If they continue to insult the SPG, tell them to go find, and buy, a car as nice as yours for what they're offering. They'll never do it, but it might make them take your research and knowledge of the car more seriously.
Whatever you do, don't cash any check they give you unless the value is satisfactory to you. You also have to be reasonable. If you had put the car up for sale four weeks ago, what would your asking price have been? And what do you think you'd have been offered?
Good luck.
