Track II for longevity and ultimate comfort, but longer Posted by turrbo [Email] (#8) [Profile/Gallery] (more from turrbo) on Thu, 15 Mar 2007 20:04:51 In Reply to: Re: Track II and IV are different, both IV's are the sa, steve, Thu, 15 Mar 2007 19:54:08 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Time for break in and a bit firmer than the IV. Sorry if I was confusing! Track IV is better for traction.
Your best bet is to completely remove the innersole and wear just your orthotics. If you leave the Ecco innersole in with your orthotic, your heel will slip in the back due to the raised height.
In a good shoe with a cushioned PU sole, the innersole really is only about 2-5% of the overall cushioning of the shoe, so you won't notice a difference at all. A lot of the Eccos are coming out of the factory now with the area under the innersole finished in leather and embossed with "Extra Width". The idea is to show the customer that the shoe can be used without the innersole to accommodate wider feet or orthotics. Even if it's not finished under there, it's fine to wear them without.
You may eventually not even need your orthotics with an Ecco, depending on your foot issues. I've seen that happen many times, though stick with what your doctor/podiatrist recommends if they're prescription. If they're just Dr. Scholls, toss them...they'll do more harm than good because they throw off the natural design of the shoe.
