it's especially difficult to see through the plastic film that has been begun to bubble all over like some sort of modern art. we acquired a car with that affliction and from driving it I know it absolutely interferred with vision through the rear glass. The PO had attempted to remove part of it and stopped. The shops didn't want to deal with it. We did some research and actually found the proper way to remove it, a little work but we were successful in doing it and saving the window defroster! Interestingly, the two side windows were ok, only the rear glass was a mess. We determined that since the hatch (C900) was orinented to the sun, and the side glass was not, it took the brunt of direct sunlight and failed (somewhat like the hood top and trunk paint does too). So when you see one of those cars in front of you and can't see through it, know that the driver can't see you (or much of anything else) either. It reminded me of looking through a plastic shower curtain, the ones where you can see a shape and not much else.
As to security of items left inside your car, time and again at all of the shopping holidays we are constantly reminded to avoid leaving things in plain site and instead put them in the trunk. Seems like a good idea year round.
What does the tint do to your ability to see out at night, isn't it abit like wearing sunglasses?
