Top Tier Gas does NOT necessarily have ethanol

As I posted previously on another thread it is all about the detergent package not whether or NOT it has ethanol. Not sure why this keeps getting posted. All summer I bought at local Shell that clearly indicated "NO Ethanol". Also local Phillips 66, another "top tier" gas, also indicated "No Ethanol--Better Mileage".
The Shell since some time after September is currently Ethanol blend. Might be used for local winter blend in part to meet our winter emissions requirements. I am guessing Phillips 66 might also currently be Ethanol but haven't checked to see if status changed since this summer. Around here (right next to Iowa) ethanol is the norm but it does not appear to be a requirement of a "top tier" gas. Stations like Mobil are always ethanol blend year round so around here the "top tier" stations actually present one of the better chances of getting a no ethanol fuel.
Does "top tier" matter? That I can't say but based on what I have seen at "top tier" brand stations the ethanol card is unjustified.
