But, over priced, yes.
We now have an '07 MB 550 sedan, an '08 BMW 535xi wagon, and an '06 Saab 9-5 wagon, going off lease next month. The BMW is the replacement. ( Dealer offered an extra $1K discount to take early delivery on an ordered car).
We've had the MB for over 2 years since it was an early '06 summer delivered car.
The German cars are built as if they were going to war, the Saab is built like it is going on a long, tough hike. Both good, but different.
Most likely, we'd be replacing the 9-5 with another 9-5, had it not been for GM's "wisdom". Car has been trouble free, and fun to drive. But, GM has chosen the historicaly easy route of pouring its available resources into the likes of Escalades, Youkons, Hummers etc., rather than keeping its automobiles competitive. (To paraphrase Marlon Brando in Apocalypse Now - "Oh, the arrogance, the arrogance, the arrogance...")
Agreed, there would be no Saab today without GM (or another major step parent), but when you lock a promising step child in the closet while you go partying, you may rue that day for a long, long, long time.
I sincerely hope GM makes it...
