Got any suggestions for things to do to ease CVS and better change one’s workstation to reduce the eye stress?
Some ideas I've had are setup the LCD monitor so the bottom is below the desk surface like they used to do with CRTs at banks, airports, etc. That allows a larger drop down viewing angle which keeps eyes wetter.
Get a large (>30") monitor and sit much further back (>45”) using larger fonts. It might be an issue with the lower dpi on the larger screens and increased large eye movements because of the larger screen. I’m not sure what one could do about viewing angle in this regard. Alternatively, use a smaller screen at arms length, but that can be sharper and more tilted.
Train eyes to blink more. I'm not sure how readily one can achieve that, especially given the naturally reduced rate just from reading a paper document.
Experiment with specialty glasses like micro environment glasses, coatings, etc. to reduce dryness. I’m guessing single vision computer glasses are best if you use the computer a lot.
Artificial tears. I'm not a fan of this if other options can work because I feel it is better to rely on your own body if that is sufficient. Also, some older products have been shown to damage the eye over time.
Learn to type with eyes closed or use dictation software. Neither of these will help when reading.
Are there other ideas? Any specialty monitors/filters?
