No, you can't. The limitation is on the current, not the power. Not all extension cords are the same though, even with the same rating. 16AWG wire can safely carry 22A, while 14AWG can carry 32A. This neglects to take into account the contact resistance on the plugs and receptacles, so depending on how much current you're drawing, you might not be able to use an extension cord for that reason. How much current do you need, and what is it you're powering?
