Our female factory rep went on to be the GM of a Saab dealer in the bay area. I've met many successful female vehicle sales folks. I probably won't word this with enough political correctness, but the gals who sell cars tend to be a little more savvy, aggressive and self assured than other women. That often has no effect on their femininity. Female vehicle sales folks need to be comfortable in a male dominated good 'ole boy environment. That's not too different than any other business, but the car biz generally doesn't attract the more educated and enlightened end of the people spectrum.
I would imagine the ranks of Saab sales folks in general has thinned. Vehicle sales are tough all around, Saab tougher than the rest with all the uncertainty. I wish you all the luck in the world, but keep an eye out for a good "house" in perhaps another brand if car sales appeals to you. By good house I mean it doesn't have to be a brand you admire or believe in. What's more important is the attitude of the management who sells them. You may not like Chevy's better than Toyotas, but rather to work at a nice Chevy store than a schlock Toyota place.
