2008 C300 Sport. I love it! I have the very rare 6sp manual transmission. My dealer tells me there are only two roaming the streets here in MA.
I disagree with the post about the handling. This car handles a little better than my 9-5 did. The ‘Sport’ model comes with a lowered suspension, the Agility Control System and larger drilled brake rotors. The rear wheel drive Sport has staggered wheel sizes. Everyone will complain the turn signal switch is too low but like the SAAB ignition key… after a few days, you won’t even notice it anymore.
I love the looks of it. It sits low and flat and is very menacing looking at the front. The interior is very comfortable. My only complaint is I can’t have the information screen in front of the speedometer default to the setting I like. There are so many nice touches that you won’t notice right away but are fun to find. I recently noticed that there is ambient lighting above the door handles, below the rearview mirror and in the foot wells. Performance is good enough. It’s not turbocharged so there is no flying away at the light in first gear but once you move from 2nd to 3rd the car will haul some serious a$$. Highway driving is fantastic. It likes to cruise at 90 plus so be very careful. You may want to put your finger where the turn signal is _supposed_ to be and activate the cruise control. Conservative highway driving will return 28-33 MPG.
If you go on YouTube and search ‘5th gear C Class’ they have a great video review that covers lots of the features and performance of the C Class. Then you can go watch National Treasure 2 to see how well it performs getting beat up by Nicholas Cage in the streets of London.
Go buy that car and enjoy it. You will love it! It will be a good staple until Koenigsegg get SAAB sorted out. That’s my plan at least.
Good luck,
Joe
