Anders, there's another alternative to buying there that might save money and will let you be certain you're equipped before you leave. Certainly some of the best and most modern cell phones are available in Sweden, but they're pricey. There are two phones on the site TG linked to that specifically state they're quad band. They cost SEK 425 or 579, or about $62 - $84, and they're pretty low level phones (no bluetooth, no camera,...). A well-known online auction site has a number of used or new Motorola, Nokia, or Sony-Ericsson unlocked quad band phones with some additional features, from American-based sellers, for $30 - $50. These phones were mainstream offerings from cell carriers two or three years ago, and the used ones can be a little scratched, but they work fine. I bought an unlocked Motorola for $25 several years ago when I lost my Blackberry, got it in three days, and it worked like a charm. I still have it for extensive calling in Europe.
Best of luck. Short notice trips often aren't of a happy nature.
Ron
