Citgo is my usual brand, seem to have the majority of branded stations on my daily commute (and their US headquarters is downstars from my office); their 93 runs fine in my car. In fact, according to my bro who works for a US-based integrated oil producer/distributor, ALL gasoline in the Chicago area is made at the BP (formerly Amoco) refinery in Whiting, Indiana, so aside from the additive packages, there really isn't any difference between brands. What seems to have been the issue at the big box store is that the "premium" tank underground probably had "regular" (or some water) in it.
