Why such bad USA sales this year?

I was reading an article in the USA Today, last week and they had a profile of a Saab sales guy in California I think. It quoted the poor Saab USA sales this year. The numbers are so low it makes me wonder why Saab fans like myself haven't bought more Saab cars this year in the states? I've had a bunch of Saabs (99 GL, 9-5 wagon, 9000t, etc. etc.). My wife and I just bought a 2009 9-3 sedan so I did my part I guess. At least we got rid of our 9-7x trailblazer nightmare moneypit. My worry is long term. Even if someone buys Saab will they keep importing to the US? Think Peugot in the 1980s. Most Saab dealers I see are really selling it as a subline to Volvo or other brands. Just a thought. All I really want for Christmas is World Peace and a Saab buyout. Is that so much to ask? Surely Santa needs Saab to stay in business so he can get around the North Pole. I think Ford should have bought them and merged it with Volvo but that's another story. Besides which would be worse for GM, Russians or Ford.
