As a loyal Saab guy, I found little reason to replace my '03 9-5 Aero wagon with a newer model...since it's basically the same car. In fact, I think the newer cars actually showed a lot of signs of cost cutting, particularly in the interior. I say this, BUT, after sitting in the new 9-5 at the LA Auto Show, believe me, the new 9-5 wagon is my #1 choice to replace my current car (that is, if it ever sees the light of day.).

I had an '06 9-3 Aero convertible, which I traded for a BMW 335i convertible two years later as I just found the interior to be subpar for what the car was. It was almost embarassing the way the car creaked, and the way the super cheap door pulls actually felt (they compressed when you pulled them as they were so thin!), etc.

Compare Volvo's product line...10 yrs of pretty much the same 9-5, and one major change for the 9-3. Volvo has seen the many more product updates, new product launches, (C30, XC60, XC70 overhaul)etc. GM waited way too long with Saab versions.

I'm a loyal Saab guy, but I need to see some advancement before I make the jump. You don't buy the exact same mobile phone two or three years after you got your last one because it's somewhat out of date...it's the same with cars...at least for me.

Just my $0.02.
