My experiences of flying through O'Hare in recent times have been less than favorable. The long walks between terminals are not ideal when you have a tight connection time. When I've been through there in the last year or so, the place has looked like it's going through some sort of budget crisis - the terminals, even the newer ones, are unkempt, dirty and litter-strewn. The food courts had limited choices, limited hours (!!!) and I bought a moldy fruit cup for $6, and the people working there seemed to not care much about anything. Midway wasn't much better, but at least I figure that is kind of a "budget" airport. With weather risks in winter, I just try to avoid Chi-town if at all possible. It's second only to New York City area airports on my "no fly" list, and I avoid them because of the air congestion and likelihood of delays, not because of how they are as facilities.
