There are, I think, three "old" terminals and one new one. One of the old ones is International and you can't even get there, walking, from the other ones. The new terminal is, I think, all United or mainly United. That's the one with the neon ceiling sculpture.
I know people like to complain about O'Hare, and I'm not a regular flyer, but I have to say that I haven't noticed all that much difference between airports in major cities.
However, since I start or finish in Chicago, I can usually find a direct flight.
I have been amused at travel agents (headquartered in neighboring states) tried to book me on flights that do things like go from Chicago to Florida via Denver to arrive an hour sooner, but leave 6 hours earlier.
