Economy - double dip and investments? Posted by pete [Email] (#2000) [Profile/Gallery] (more from pete) on Thu, 8 Jul 2010 16:38:39 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Given the wide range of "Saaber's" backgrounds, I'd be really interested to hear everyone's thoughts on the economy in North America. Is double-dip recession coming? I saw a documentary over a year ago saying that the second wave Mortgage Option ARMs are coming due, peaking in mid 2011. (And that the Federally funded Mortgage $8000 incentive has ended - with some going to prison inmates?)
Is gold gonna keep going up (to $3000/oz?);
What about the $12 trillion debt of the US? (And China holding a large slice of that?) The US leveraged their holding a lot of UK debt to force the UK's hand over the Suez canal.. Could China do the same to the US? Is anyone concerned?
I read a book a couple of years ago called "America's Financial Reckoning Day: How you can survive Americas monetary & political decline in the 21st Century". Sobering reading. Any concerns if the US buck collapses (along with every other major currency?)
What is a good investment strategy... gold?
