You might consider getting yours fixed. I had my +20 yr old Toro fixed this winter for ~$100, and it is running as good as new. According to the guy who fixed it, the older snow blowers are built much better and well worth fixing vs. buying "new Chinese junk" (his words).
Now the cynic in me has considered that the repair guy says this because older machine probably need more regular repair (hence, more business for him), but this is the only money I've put into this since my neighbor gave it to me 4 yrs ago (he was moving to a warm state). It also clears snow better than my 6 yr old Ariens single stage (that I sold after I got this Toro).
