Eiron,
If you're sorta point-and-shooter, then just have your hands-on with both those cams and pick up the one that looks and feels the best to you.
If you're a bit deeper into photography, then here's a quick break-down for each side:
Olympus (and micro4\3 in general):
- quite compact design
- lot's of lenses can be attached via widely available adapters cause of the very short flange focal distance (e.g. M-mount, R-mount, EOS-mount, FD-mount, M42-mount, K-mount, N-mount and so forth; but you'll be limited to manual focus only with these lenses)
- native lenses (Olympus, Lumix, Leica by Lumix, Sigma) are driven by wire when in manual focus (strange feel on the 1st site, but many can get used to this)
- contrast-detect AF only
- native 4:3 aspect ratio
Nikon:
- the best flash system available
- plenty of very high-grade lens available (but limited to N-mount only), but AF (auto-focus) operation is limited to only the ones, that have built-in motor
- you won't be able to attach and use those M42 or Leica or such lenses cause of long focal flange distance; 3rd parties are limited to Sigma, Tamron and Tokina in N-mount versions only
- phase-detect (with prediction for moving subject) AF as well as contrast-detect AF
- native 3:2 aspect ratio
Zig
P.S.
As for noname's comment - I can't say that all the excellent lenses ever made are limited to Nikon brand only.
