Concur on renting a car dolly or trailer

U-Haul or Ryder or Penske has them.

Last summer I had to fetch my broken pickup that was 250 miles away from home. For about $60 or $70 from U-Haul I got a one-day rental on a two axle trailer with the right straps, ratchets, and anchor points already built into the trailer. Pulled it with my Suburban. Loading took about ten minutes and unloading about five minutes.

Stress-free, safe and even a little fun when considering the cheapest hauler-for-hire wanted about $500 for the job.
